This is a custodial position responsible for the constant supervision and observation primarily of adolescent youth (ages ten  – eighteen ) residing in the Monroe County Children’s Center (a secure detention facility), usually by Family Court Order. Duties involve directing, counseling, and instructing youth in planned and unplanned instructional and recreational activities, daily living routines and performing court ordered transport of Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS) and Juvenile Delinquent youth (JD’s). Youth Detention Workers work a variety of shifts and schedules. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of Senior and Supervising Youth Detention Workers with wide latitude allowed in the performance of duties. Does related work as required.
Coordinates website and social media updates. Supports development of written marketing and communication materials. Provides public, media relations and marketing support to agency departments with including Visiting Nurse Foundation fundraising, Meals on Wheels and Hospice programs and events. Supports brand management. Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of internal and external business development initiatives and community relations programs/services.
