Job Summary

The IT Support Technician is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of end usersí systems and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that end usersí systems: hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Successful candidates will provide Desktop administration, helpdesk support, throughout RES.

Job Description

Job Results, Essential Functions & Measures:

Customer Service/ Help Desk (70%)

  1. Process help desk tickets in a timely fashion

  2. Addresses immediate service requests

  3. Provides support for all internal & remote hardware

  4. Assists with web conferencing

  5. Other duties as assigned

Hardware/Software Support (20%)

  1. Maintaining day to day support of various hardware equipment (Laptops, printers etc.)

  2. Maintains the telecommunication equipment

  3. Load operating systems and configure equipment

  4. Thin Client provisioning (Virtual Desktop)

  5. Microsoft Office 365 support

  6. Updating operating systems & firmware

  7. Maintaining updated applications on end user devices

  8. Maintaining accurate hardware inventory

  9. Maintaining software license inventory

  10. Maintain up to date software / licensing subscriptions

  11. Maintain and configure firewalls & switches

  12. Other duties as assigned

Project Work (10%)

  1. Interface with IT partners for pricing quotes

  2. Assists in designing & configuring of computing equipment

  3. Create customized reports to relay information requested by executive team

  4. Maintain up to date documentation on IT processes

  5. Other duties as assigned

Managerís observation:

  1. Measurement of help desk ticket turnaround time

  2. Immediate support needs are met in a timely fashion

Managerís observation:

  1. Ensures all hardware equipment is in good working order.

  2. Ensures ample software licenses are available at all times

  3. Ensures ample hardware available at all times

  4. Measurement of telecommunication equipment down time

  5. Ensures firewalls are intact at all times

Managerís observation:

  1. Ability to complete project with little direction

  2. Measurement of IT process documentation Updates

Education & Experience:

Associate degree in Information Technology and/or Systems with two years of experience working in an IT Department utilizing multiple technologies. Including but not limited to Fortinet Firewall, Allworx, Barracuda, Syteline, Autodesk, Datto backup & PRTG experience.
