Job Summary

The Strong Museum of Play is recruiting for a part-time Guest Relations Host. The Guest Relations Host believes that guests are the top priority at The Strong and ensures that guests have a positive experience throughout their visit. The Host works frontline on the museumís Guest Services team interacting with guests of all ages to respond quickly and effectively to their needs, questions, and expectations.

Job Description


The Guest Relations Host believes that guests are the top priority at The Strong and ensures that guests have a positive experience throughout their visit. The Host works frontline on the museumís Guest Services team interacting with guests of all ages to respond quickly and effectively to their needs, questions, and expectations. The Host serves the galleries and controls access to locations such as the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden, Elaine Wilson Carousel, The Strong Express Train, and Wegmans Super Kids Market.



Responsibilities:



  1. Over 100,000 square feet of dynamic, interactive visitor space

  2. 5,000-30,000 guests per week depending on the season

  3. Cleaning and tidying of the exhibits and craft areas

  4. Additional hours may be required to accommodate high-volume periods such as school vacation weeks, holidays, and summer hours


Selected candidates must be available to attend mandatory training that is typically held on Monday and Tuesday night from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Candidates will be notified when the next training session has been scheduled.



Qualifications:



  1. Availability to work afternoons and/or availability to work weekends (Friday 4:30 - 8:15, Saturday and Sunday)

  2. A high school diploma, GED, or CDOS; we will also consider current high school students 17+ years of age

  3. Strong communication and listening skills

  4. Ability to work independently and cooperatively

  5. You must consent to and pass a drug screen and criminal background check as conditions of employment
