Job Summary

Glenmere Assisted Living & Memory Care in Pittsford, NY is seeking a Full Time Activities Assistant with the Life Enrichment Team. The person in this role must possess excellent customer service skills, a passion for interacting with our elderly residents, and a positive approach to encouraging their involvement in scheduled activities.

This position is full time, 4 days during the week and every other Saturday.

Job Description



Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associates Degree preferred.

Experience: Ideal candidate would have at least two (2) years previous experience working in assisted living facilities, specifically with dementia population. Candidate would have experience working with the senior population and residents with varying abilities.

Skills: Ability to plan and organize a variety of programs for groups of various sizes and speak effectively before groups of various sizes.

The Activities Assistant will:

  1. Plan, organize, and implement activities programs

  2. Create the monthly activities calendar in a timely manner

  3. Coordinate with other departments when implementing programs

  4. Encourage resident involvement in activities programs

  5. Follow the activity schedule while making changes as needed for the resident population

  6. Begin activities on time

  7. Provide two activities per month on other units

  8. Plan joint activities between units monthly and larger community-wide activities throughout the year

  9. Attend outings as specified by the Life Enrichment Director

  10. Provide vacation/sick time coverage for other Activities Assistants

  11. Complete other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Activities Director
