Family Dollar Store Managers provide leadership, sales management and customer service in all aspect of managing a Family Dollar store. They are responsible for building strong teams to support the communities we serve.

Job Description


Store Managers at Dollar Tree are responsible for the following:

  1. Managing the profitable operation of a retail store with emphasis on recruiting, hiring, training and developing store associates in both operations and merchandising

  2. Performing all opening and closing procedures

  3. Implementing all operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from the Store Support Center

  4. Maintaining a high standard of merchandising, placement, store signage, and proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers

  5. Assisting in the realization of your store's maximum profit contribution

  6. Protecting all company assets

  7. Maintaining a high level of good customer service

  8. Creative problem solving in the areas of:

    1. Associate Development

    2. Maximizing Sales Potential

    3. Controlling Expense and Shrink

    4. Merchandise Display

    5. Store Signage Placement

What we need from you:

  1. Must possess minimum 3 years prior retail management experience

  2. Background in dealing with hardlines or variety merchandise, BIG BOX experience a plus

  3. Strong productivity management ability in freight processing

  4. Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills

  5. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment

Our teams are working tirelessly to provide a clean and safe environment for our Associates and customers. We continue to enhance and modify our protocols, as appropriate. This includes:

  1. Plexiglass guards at cash registers

  2. Associates conduct home health screenings two hour prior to their shift

  3. Managers conduct in-store health screenings of each associate prior to shift

  4. Cleaning protocols that include hand sanitizer and supplies to clean throughout the day

  5. Social Distancing by maintaining at least six feet between yourself and shoppers

  6. Face masks and gloves for Associates to wear during their shifts
